Dana's 2009 Summer Update…

I found fun this summer wherever I went.

Check out my summer favorites:

Favorite summer reading: Relationships: the good, the bad and the funny. Why? Because my short story, “Finding Love in Pregnantville” appears in the collection! (Actually it hasn't been released yet but it will be soon.) What did I really read this summer? Swindle by Gordon Korman and a re-reading of Fudg-a-mania by Judy Blume.

Fudge-a-mania is quick and funny – the perfect light reading for pool-side,
airplane trips and late night giggles. Swindle is full of page turning adventure that kept me up at night reading.
No EBT for me :-)  [early bed time]"

Favorite place to eat a hamburger: Mighty Fine in Austin, Texas…there's good and then there's mighty fine! I'm neither proud nor ashamed to admit being mesmerized by their crazy-fun handwashing machine. I got a t-shirt from this totally taste bud friendly place:

“Look at me: I have clean hands! Wheeeee!"

  (Okay, so maybe
  I am proud of being
  mesmerized
  by the handwashing
  machine!)

Favorite nature watching: Standing on the Congress Avenue bridge in Austin, Texas – home of the world’s largest urban bat colony! Click here for cool bat facts.

“Bat guano (poop) is major stinko!” Eeeeewww!

Favorite creepy fun:  Playing Monster Golf in the dark!

Favorite place to go when I got thirsty: The tasting room at the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia! Coke owns soft drinks all over the world. In the tasting room, over 60 different
flavors from around the globe are available to sample. Slurp!
